I am preaching on this text in the tomorrow. Thank you for your blog, this text works so well in the recovery context. I love Jesus reply, "which is easier to say your sins or forgiven or take up your mat and walk." We know every Sunday we have fakers in church, a common phrase in AA is simply "fake it till you make it" so they are welcome with open arms, hoping that this time in sobriety will take hold. So my question is, "Is it easier to stand up and say 'I am an alcoholic' or to live a life in recovery?" Is it easier to stand and say "I am a Christian" or to live out our life as Jesus would want.......a lot of good stuff.
